Custom colours
Gloss black, satin bronze, anthracite, matte gunmetal, fluoro yellow, candy red. If you can colour-pick it, we can usually match it.
Custom colour work needs more prep than a like-for-like refurb but the result is worth it. We strip, prime, colour-match, lay the colour, and lacquer. The work is done at the side of the van; the wheels are off the car for a few hours per set.
Custom colour is where the wheels stop matching the previous owner's car and start looking like yours. The most common picks are gloss black, satin black, gunmetal, anthracite and bronze; the more interesting ones are candy reds, fluoros, two-tone splits and matte finishes.
It's more prep than a like-for-like refurb because we're going through the previous colour, not over it. Strip back, prime, lay the new colour, lacquer. Per set, plan in a half-day to a day on the driveway depending on colour complexity.
We'll talk through finish options - gloss, satin, matt, metallic, candy - because they all wear and clean differently. Matt is striking but high-maintenance; satin is a good middle ground; gloss is the most forgiving.

How the work runs
- Pick a colour. Bring a code, a sample, or even a photo. We'll come back with finish options and a price.
- Book in. Half-day to full-day slot on your driveway, depending on colour complexity and set size.
- Strip and prime. Existing colour stripped back, surface primed across the wheel ready for the new finish.
- Colour. New colour laid evenly over the primer. Multi-stage finishes (candy, two-tone) take longer.
- Lacquer and cure. Lacquer over the colour, cured before we leave. Wheel touch-safe at the end of the visit.
- Maintenance brief. We talk you through how to clean and maintain the finish so it lasts. Matt and satin in particular are sensitive to harsh wheel cleaners.
Pricing
Quoted per set after a photo and colour brief. Multi-stage finishes (candy, two-tone) and very specific colour matches add to the price.
How to book
Phone or message us a few photos: front-on, side, kerb damage close-up, and centre cap if there's a logo. We'll come back with a price and a slot, usually same day.
Custom colours FAQs.
-
What colours can you do?
Almost anything. Standard automotive colours, matt and satin finishes, metallics, two-tone splits, candy and pearl effects. Bring a code or a sample if it's bespoke.
-
How long does custom colour take?
Half a day to a full day per set on your driveway, depending on the colour. Multi-stage finishes (candy, two-tone) and very dark colours over light bases take longer.
-
Will the finish last?
Yes, with sensible care. Avoid harsh wheel cleaners on matt and satin finishes especially. Gloss is the most forgiving day to day.
-
Will my colour match across the set?
Yes - we colour-match against the same reference for all four wheels in a single visit, so they leave consistent.
-
Can you do part of the wheel a different colour from the rest?
Two-tone splits, painted lips, contrasting spokes - all doable. They take longer than a flat single colour and we'll quote that up front.
